Not much seen of updates regarding the development group and their pre-season campaign. Leicester played Leamington FC on the 26th of July, getting a good reality check on their level of form and quality.
Leamington FC is a club currently on level 6 in English football, and they showed to be from from a walk in the park for this group of Leicester City development players, also having a full international in the team, Brendan Cover, who represents Jamaica.
Leamington FC looks to be in good form as their win vs. Leicester U.21 was their fifth consecutive win in this pre-season. Leicester could have taken the lead early on and was the positive team in the start of the game, but it slided. Leamington FC scored their two goals in the end of first half.
Leicester had their chances especially Amani Richards coming close early second half, but it was all in control for Leamington FC who came with a good result as Leicester might be thinking about their level of performance as reality kicks in, on what type of level they are, as English football is hard and competetive far down the tiers.
Interesting points to look at as Arjan Raikhy and Zach Booth both were in the team captained by Sammy Braybrooke. Raikhy close to the first team last season and Booth being out on loan at Volendham in Eresdivisie. Wanya Marsal, Logan Briggs and Brendan Cover were all in the line up.
The players in action were the following;
Leicester City XI: Stevie Bauser, Brandon Cover, Mirsad Ali, Tom Wilson-Brown, Harvey Godsmark-Ford, Sammy Braybrooke ©, Zach Booth, Oli Ewing, Chris Popov, Logan Briggs, Wanya Marcal. Substitutes: 12 Bobby Amartey, 13 Harry French, 14 Toby Onanaye, 15 Amani Richards, 16 Tommy Neale, 17 Jahmari Lindsay, 18 Ben Grist, 19 Liam McAlinney, 20 Jayden Joseph, 21 Kian Pennant, 22 Arjan Raikhy.
