Tottenham urged to make Gallagher transfer
Tottenham Hotspur had been looking at Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher for several months before it seemed like he would move to Atletico Madrid. However, a move to Spain could be jeopardised due to the finer details of the transfer with Gallagher now back in London after initially travelling to Madrid to seal his move.
Spurs have been told to hijack a transfer for Gallagher by former defender Alan Hutton, who spoke with Football Insider. It has been reported that the Lilywhites retain an ‘active interest’ in the English midfielder and are alerted by the possibility of his deal to Atletico collapsing.
Gallagher has been told that he will not be a regular part of Chelsea’s proceedings if he stays beyond the transfer window. He was, however, a massive part of Mauricio Pochettino’s tactical setup with the ex-manager even describing him as ‘priceless’.
Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira also spoke very highly of Gallagher some time ago having coached him while the player spent a year on loan at Crystal Palace. Chelsea are looking to raise funds and therefore, they may even sell the 24-year-old to a direct rival, Tottenham Hotspur.
There still is no hint of any official approach from Tottenham to hijack Atletico Madrid’s deal but they are certain to be on the prowl if indeed the La Liga giants back out of a move. A transfer fee close to £35 million could be enough in convincing the Blues to let go of Gallagher.

Ange Postecoglou would welcome the signing of a dynamic and energetic midfielder, who can be a long-term fixture in Spurs’ squad. Conor Gallagher certainly fits the bill and it will be exciting to see a talent like him continuing in the Premier League rather than leave England altogether.
