Eredivisie club Feyenoord complete the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman on loan for the 2024-25 season.
Eredivisie club Feyenoord have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman on loan for the 2024-25 season.
It was announced in February by the Seagulls that they have agreed to sign the 19-year-old for a reported £16m from Danish side Nordsjaelland this summer.
Osman linked up with Brighton’s first-team squad for the first time last month at the start of pre-season, but the decision has been made to send the youngster out on loan to Feyenoord.
“Ibrahim has had a good pre-season with the squad,” Brighton’s technical director David Weir told the club’s website. “We have strong competition in the wide areas and the feeling is that it is much better for Ibrahim’s development for him to be playing regular senior football.
“This is an excellent opportunity for him to play at Feyenoord and we will be watching his progress as the season unfolds.”
Osman becomes Feyenoord’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window and their second from the Premier League after left-back Hugo Bueno, who has joined on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Osman explains decision to join Feyenoord on loan
Explaining his decision to join Feyenoord on a temporary basis this season, Osman told the club’s official website: “At Feyenoord, young players get the chance to develop.
“For my development, it is good to play here and improve aspects of my game. And I want to use my qualities to help the team achieve great things in the Eredivisie and in Europe.”
Osman was born in Ghana and began his career in the nation’s Right to Dream football academy, which has produced several established names in recent years including Brighton winger Simon Adingra.
Now a two-cap Ghana international, Osman join Nordsjaelland in early 2023 and he quickly cemented his place in the Danish club’s first team, gaining experience in the Danish Sueprliga and Europa Conference League.
Osman, who is comfortable operating on either wing, made a total of 54 senior appearances for Nordsjaelland in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists.
Feyenoord’s new No.38 could make his debut for the club when they travel to PEC Zwolle for their first Eredivisie away game of the new season on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Brighton have announced the signing of German attacker Brajan Gruda from Mainz 05 on a four-year deal for a reported £25m.
