Germany are back in action this season, kicking off another round of Nations League games with an entirely new-look teams. That’s right — it’s got a new captain, a new goalkeeper, and the fewest Bayern Munich callups of any German squad of the last fifteen years (probably).
This is supposed to be the beginning of a new era for Germany, to usher in a new generation with young guys like Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala at the forefront. But first, Julian Nagelsmann will need to keep the momentum going from a very successful Euro 2024 campaign. Will the “next gen” refresh start with a bang, or a whimper?
