When asked about Vincent Kompany’s performance at Bayern Munich this season, Uli Hoeneß dropped another iconic response. Immediately comparing Kompany to his predecessor Thomas Tuchel, Uli found the difference to be massive.
“It’s a difference like day and night compared to before. He is communicative and cares about his players,” said the honorary club president (via @iMiaSanMia), a sneak diss of sorts aimed at the upcoming English national team coach.
He continued, talking about the factors that motivated the board to sign Kompany: “But we didn’t know that [about him] before. That’s why we called Pep Guardiola and asked him for advice. He just told us that we can take him blindly, he can do it. Actually, there’s not much standing in the way of successful years at FC Bayern.”
Well, it’s certainly good to see the constant stream of optimism surrounding Kompany from everyone at the club. What do you think of Uli’s statement? Is he right? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
