Scoring a goal on one’s debut is always nice. Deniz Undav was the lucky man who was able to experience it was written all over his once he strode over to offer some post match comments on his debut. @iMiaSanMia captured the VFB Stuttgart player’s thoughts on the game:
“I’m very happy to score my first goal in my first start, especially against a team like The Netherlands. Even though of course I’d have liked to win the game. I had no pressure and just tried to play my game and score, it worked out today.”
After an encouraging EURO 2024 that still ended before the semifinals and a dominant win against Hungary combined with this mixed result, there is one question one everyone’s mind. Does the German national team now belong to the world elite again? Undav says no:
“Not yet. But we’re in a good way. The chemistry in the team is amazing. We still have to learn, we made mistakes that shouldn’t be happening at this level. I’m confident we can improve and achieve big things.”
