At the age of 17, Jamal Musiala joined Bayern Munich’s senior squad and has already developed into one of the best players in the world (unless you’re a Ballon d’Or voter). After a successful first season, Bayern quickly inked Musiala to a five-year deal and is already working toward another extension to keep him in Munich for the rest of his twenties.
Musiala and fellow academy product Joshua Zirkzee quickly worked their way up the ranks at Säbener Strasse. Zirkzee’s career has sent him to Belgium, Italy, and now England, but the duo have remained close friends and even vacation together.
In a recent interview (via @iMiaSanMia), Musiala was recently asked about being recruited to play with Zirkzee at Manchester United. Musiala quickly retorted, “You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together in the same team one day. The jokes go both ways: I also told Josh that he should come back to Bayern. But you shouldn’t take that too seriously.”
Hopefully Bayern can lock down Musiala sooner rather than later without any controversy. Musiala has the skills and leadership qualities to become the face of the club for the next decade and neither money nor friendly recruiting should be an obstacle.
