The introductory press conference of new Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise was fairly funny in how journalists struggled to get long answers out of the former Crystal Palace man, who rarely answered questions with more than one sentence. It is a rarity in world football to see a player answer so casually, but this is just his way of speaking to journalists. Olise proved that with a recent interview with Téléfoot during the international break with France, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.
What are his goals for the season? “I want to score goals and make assists. If I do that, I’m happy. If the team wins, that’s all, that’s my job.”
What about the other French players at Bayern? “There are a lot of players. There’s Mathys, Coman, Upa. I talk to them a lot and they helped me integrate in the team.”
And who were his idols? “Neymar, [Zinedine] Zidane, [Lionel] Messi.”
Never change, Olise. Never change.
