As Bayern Munich works to get a new deal done with Jamal Musiala, the potential competition for him — should he actually hit the transfer market next summer — could be intense.
Not only are English powers like Manchester City, Arsenal FC, and Liverpool FC already dreaming about what a Musiala transfer might look like, but both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are reportedly pondering a future with the Germany international.
As with everything that involves those two clubs, a battle could ensue:
Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is set to become the centre of attention in the transfer market, sparking interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona. As revealed by SPORT, Musiala is expected to ignite a bidding war between these two European giants.
At 21 years old, the German midfielder is already considered one of the brightest talents in Europe, having showcased his skills over the past few seasons. Bayern Munich are keen to retain him, seeing him as a crucial part of their future, but his contract, which ends in 2026, leaves room for other clubs to make offers.
Real Madrid are also closely monitoring Musiala’s situation. It is said that the club sees him as a potential fit for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. However, Madrid’s primary target for next summer remains Manchester City’s Rodri. If Musiala decides to leave Bayern, Madrid could move swiftly to secure his services, either in 2026 as a free agent or sooner if Bayern opt to sell him before his contract expires.
Barcelona, on the other hand, are particularly interested in Musiala, with club president Joan Laporta eyeing him as a star signing for the summer of 2025. The club’s strategy is to make a bold statement before the next presidential elections by securing two high-profile signings, and Musiala fits that bill perfectly. His price tag, however, won’t come cheap, with Bayern expected to demand around €130 million.
Lastly, Bayern Munich are determined to keep Musiala. Club president Herbert Hainer has publicly stated that they want him to be their next Thomas Muller, someone who could stay at the club for decades. Bayern have already offered Musiala a new contract, but as of now, there has been no response from the player. This situation keeps top clubs like Barça and Madrid on high alert, ready to pounce if the opportunity arises.
Manchester City could lose some key players if Pep Guardiola walks away:
Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Rodri could all leave Manchester City if Pep Guardiola walks away from the job at the end of the season.
I mean…if Haaland wants to take a look over at Bayern Munich, the Bavarians might be able to make room for him.
Bayern Munich is back in action this weekend after the international break — and man, it is good to have the Bundesliga back in tow.
We’ll talk about the excitement for more BuLi ball and whole lot more on this episode. This is what we have on tap:
- Chuck talks about the choppiness of this opening schedule and the return of the Bundesliga after the international break, before jumping directly into the latest controversy surrounding Didi Hamann’s comments regarding Jamal Musiala. Is Hamann correct in saying that Musiala is “Individualistic”?
- Can Bayern Munich weather the storm and get a deal with Musiala done? If so, how does a potential pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and the eventual return of Paul Wanner work?
- Is Hansi Flick eyeing a unique double-dip into Bayern Munich’s roster for the summer of 2025 transfer window?
Arsenal and Newcastle United both would like to bring in Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané, who might not even be available the time the clubs could actually talk to him:
Arsenal and Newcastle United are both reportedly interested in securing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané, according to Give Me Sport. With Sané’s contract set to expire next summer, both Premier League sides are keenly watching the situation unfold, preparing to make a move for the highly talented winger.
Sané, who previously played for Manchester City, boasts a proven track record in the Premier League. Over the course of 90 appearances, he contributed to 54 goals, showcasing his ability to deliver at the highest level. This history makes him an attractive option for both clubs looking to bolster their attacking options.
Bayern Munich could have to deal with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain if it wants to acquire Arsenal’s William Saliba:
Real Madrid are wary they would have to pay in excess of £85m in order to sign William Saliba from Arsenal, while Bayern Munich and PSG are also showing an interest in the center-back.
LAST CALL!
Bayern Munich will be back in action this weekend and will be facing Holstein Kiel.
As you might recall, Bayern Munich was unceremoniously bounced by Holstein Kiel in the DFB-Pokal during Hansi Flick’s final season with the club (FCBayern.com):
Bayern have a score to settle with Kiel from the only previous competitive encounter. That came in the second round of the 2020/21 DFB Cup when a 6-5 defeat on penalties saw the holders knocked out by the then Bundesliga 2 side in wintery January conditions at the Holstein-Stadion.
Even with Holstein Kiel struggling with its promotion, this should be a fun match for fans to soak in after the international break. Let’s take a look at what we have on tap for this episode:
- A look at where each team is in the table and the recent form of each squad.
- What to watch for with Holstein Kiel.
- A remembrance of the #ArpTrain movement (RIP).
- A look at Bayern Munich’s injury situation.
- A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
- A prediction on the match.
When Bayern Munich was linked to then-Leeds United star Archie Gray a few months back, it seemed like a classic case of the Bavarians’ name being used as leverage to help Gray move to Tottenham Hotspur for a better salary. However, it seems like both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were actually serious bidders for Gray:
One of Tottenham’s most exciting signings this summer was the capture of Archie Gray from Leeds United, but the young midfielder was also wanted by two of Europe’s biggest clubs earlier this year.
In a summer mostly dominated by outgoings for Spurs, the signing of Gray earlier in the window has been regarded as a very smart piece of business for one of the brightest young talents in the game.
His departure was a big loss for Leeds, but it is one they saw coming, especially considering the interest the player attracted at the start of the year from both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Speaking on The Square Ball podcast (via Leeds Live), Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear said: “At the time when we did that new contract Archie Gray could have joined any club in the country.
“Real Madrid were interested in Archie Gray, Bayern Munich were interested. the way we were able to keep him was threefold. One, we gave him a rather attractive financial offer which matches what he would have been offered in the Premier League. The second was we levied the pathway into the first-team which we felt he had at Leeds United and the fact he had a relationship with the club.
“We also had to construct a contract which he was happy with and wasn’t going to block what he saw as his natural development. If you don’t do that you simply lose them. Archie Gray is a player who will ultimately play for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.”
It appears as if Rodrygo is not thrilled about his status in Madrid:
Current Real Madrid star Rodrygo is currently unhappy after being left off the list of nominations for this year’s Ballon d’Or, while Spanish media do not reference him when talking about the club’s star-studded attack.
The Germany national team and the Netherlands battled to a 2-2 draw at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam that left a lot of German fans unfulfilled.
It was a game of “could have”, “should have” and — while not wholly unexpected — definitely frustrated fans of Die Mannschaft.
BFW’s Marclk made his solo podcast debut to break down the match, so give it a listen as he covers everything from A to Z that went down in a match that many likely feel should have had a much different outcome.
Well, at least we all have Bayern Munich ready to strike back into action this weekend. It could be a whole lot worse!
