Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been around the block a few times, so preparing for the Champions League is old hand to the veteran by this point.
Still, this season presented some major changes to the format and Neuer is ready to embrace the change.
“Of course everything is new for us with the new format and league phase. In the end, the most important thing is that the final is in Munich, we want to be there and will give everything to make it. We’re looking forward to the start tomorrow,” Neuer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
It is still early, but Neuer had some thoughts on how things have gone so far under new boss Vincent Kompany.
“We sometimes have 1v1 situations in defense. I try to assess the situations and when to come off my line and get involved. It’s also a different game with the ball. Sometimes, I’m standing a bit higher up the pitch than before,” Neuer said.
