According to a report from CaughtOffside, Leroy Sané is “not happy” with the latest contract offer from Bayern Munich, which is said to include a pay cut. If an agreement cannot be reached Arsenal FC and Newcastle United would like to bring in the winger:
Arsenal and Newcastle United remain interested in Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane and could move for him as he nears the end of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
CaughtOffside understands Sane is not happy with Bayern trying to offer him a new deal with a lower salary, and this could lead to the Germany international leaning increasingly towards leaving his current club.
Sources have told CaughtOffside that Arsenal and Newcastle are looking closely at Sane due to his potential availability soon, with both clubs in need of more attacking options in the near future.
Eddie Howe is understood to be a big fan of Sane, while there is a recognition that the Magpies could do with bolstering their options in that area of the pitch after parting ways with Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh this summer.
This report comes just a day after news from England indicated that Jamal Musiala rejected an offer from Bayern Munich. While it is still very early — and the validity of any of these reports can be questioned — Bayern Munich has its work cut out for it in working to secure deals with Sané, Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich among others, while keeping its salary budget under control.
