David Raya was seen limping as he left the Etihad Stadium after Arsenal’s draw at Manchester City.
The Gunners were denied a statement win at the champions when John Stones’ shot beat Raya following a scramble in the Arsenal box in the final moments of extra time.
And the feeling of disappointment felt among Arsenal fans will become one of worry after footage of Raya looking uncomfortable as he left the ground emerged.
In footage posted by the Daily Mail, Raya is seen refusing interviews with journalists in the Etihad mixed zone while limping away and sporting a bandage on his right leg.
With Aaron Ramsdale being sold to Southampton in the summer, any Raya absence would see Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta be confronted with a selection headache in goal.
Arsenal responded well to going 1-0 down through Erling Haaland’s ninth-minute strike as goals by Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel put them 2-1 up at half time.
However, in the final moments of the first half they were reduced to ten men when Leandro Trossard was sent off for a second bookable offence. He kicked the ball away after City were awarded a free-kick.
The Gunners were camped in their own half throughout the second half and nearly held out for the three points but Stones had the final say in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
When asked about Trossard’s dismissal, Arteta said: “It’s not my job to come here and judge what happened. My job is to survive in the most difficult environment you can be thrown into in football for 55 minutes and try to get things done to survive. That was my job.
“The rest is out of my job and it is already the second time it has happened in five games, which is really, really worrying if you want to see the best Premier League.”
Arteta continued: “Unbelievable, I’m so proud of them. When you have survived for so many minutes, to concede in the last minute the way we did – because we had to play 97 and then it went to 99 – very disappointed.
“But at the same time, I cannot be prouder of them and the way they competed today.”
