A Chelsea player has been revealed to be the second “winningest” player in Premier League history.
Michael Ballack lost just 9.5% of the games he played – shading into second behind Ruben Dias, who has lost just 9% of his games.
Ballack of course didn’t feature in the first Jose Mourinho season, but was there for the second and some good years afterwards.
He has the benefit of not sticking around too long – he was here for the peak and then moved on. The same is more or less true for the other Blues in this top ten – Claude Makelele and Ricardo Carvalho.
Players like Frank Lampard, Petr Cech and John Terry were obviously amazing, but they played for us in some bad years too, hurting their stats with regards to pure win percentage.
Ballack was great in the games he played for us, although injuries meant he never made as many starts as he could have in those years.
