Bayern Munich needed a response to their first trophyless season in 12 years and they have done so by bringing in João Palhinha and Michael Olise to reinforce two key positions on the team. Now that both players have played with Harry Kane, the Englishman couldn’t help but praise both of his teammates.
“Two fantastic players first and foremost. I think they suit our system really well,” Kane said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “Pal [Palhinha] is an animal in that defensive midfield role. I’ve had many battles against him. He tackles, he intercepts, he reads the game really well – so he’s a great addition.
“Michael’s ability on the ball is fantastic”, the former Tottenham Hotspur man continued. “The way he moves, the way he goes around players – and his final product is at a high, high level. And he’s still very young, so there’s even more improvement to come. Great additions to the squad. All that does is push each other to be more motivated and have more competition for places.”
