João Neves has emerged as one of the standout signings of the 2024-25 season. The 20-year-old is currently part of an impressive statistic that places him ahead of some of the league’s top players.
This summer, Paris Saint-Germain invested €60 million plus an additional €10 million for the midfielder, and so far, it looks like a wise investment.
Neves has settled into Ligue 1 with remarkable ease, making a strong impression in his first five matches. The Portuguese talent has already racked up five assists in just six league appearances this season.
OptaJose pointed out on X that the midfielder joins Real Madrid’s Vinícius Junior, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush, FC Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who all have five assists in Europe’s top five competition.

PSG will be counting on Neves to be a major player in their UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium.
“Facing Arsenal on Tuesday in the Champions League? We’re not going there to draw but to win,” Neves told Téléfoot. “That’s our mentality, we are PSG.”
