Chelsea have made a very good start to the season under Enzo Maresca with several players impressing, especially midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo initially struggled following his British record transfer from Brighton last summer, but started to find his feet towards the end of last season.
However, under Maresca he appears to be a player reborn and whilst the attacking players are taking a lot of the plaudits Caicedo has been one of Chelsea’s best performers this campaign.
The Ecuador international arguably put in the best performance of his Chelsea career in last month’s win against West Ham and it appears he’s getting back to the player he was at Brighton.
Caicedo has been at his combative best making tackles and interceptions and dominating the midfield for the Blues in several matches.
The 22-year-old’s dominance in those areas has been shown by one stat and as per WhoScored no player has made more tackles and interceptions combined this season in the Premier League (34) than Caicedo.
The Ecuadorian was given the night off against Gent on Thursday and Chelsea will be looking for him to continue his good form against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
