Julian Nagelsmann’s affinity for VfB Stuttgart players continues to grow. Reportedly, the German national team coach recently contacted Stuttgart’s Atakan Karazor to inquire his interest in playing for the senior national team. The Stuttgart midfielder, however, decided on Türkiye. This marks yet another recent talent to opt for Türkiye rather than playing for Die Mannschaft.
At 27-years-old, Karazor could perhaps be at the peak of his career and is currently valued at 15 million euros. Karazor was one of the players to see a considerable rise in value after Stuttgart’s wonder season that saw them finish second in the Bundesliga.
Born in Germany, Karazor has played in Germany his whole career but decided to opt for Türkiye. Although Karazor wouldn’t single-handedly propel Germany to tournament favorites but could certainly be a contributor. Germany may not be devastated from this loss, but a pattern is certainly emerging as several players have rejected the German national team despite long-time involvement.
Türkiye is either an excellent recruiter or Germany has fell behind in attracting top talent to the national team. Paul Wanner, all eyes are on you now.
