Bayern Munich walked into Eintracht Frankfurt’s stadium with a point to prove, and a point they got because the Rekordmeister just threw away the lead in the dying minutes of the ninety to finish the game 3-3. If you thought that was bad, just look at the stats after the game:
This was a classic Gladbach performance where Bayern had so many shots yet failed to convert them yet again, not to mention Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Manuel Neuer all coming up short when the team needed them the most. The less said about the center backs the better, but Vincent Kompany tripped and fell during his first real tests as Bayern coach. It speaks volumes on what’s happening at the club.
Bayern might still be top of the Bundesliga, but soon they won’t be with that kind of defending. Questions will be asked of Kompany, and he needs to act before the situation goes out of hand.
Has Vincent Kompany been exposed? Why has Harry Kane stopped scoring? Does Manuel Neuer need a replacement? If you’re asking those questions, we discuss all that and more in the newest edition of our podcast! Listen to it below or on Spotify.
