Over the past eight days, Bayern Munich has faced two Champions League opponents (Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa) and a rising Europa League squad (Eintracht Frankfurt). Bayern outplayed all three opponents but only earned two points across the three matches.
While Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is a relatively young manager at 38-years-old, his vast playing experience is still serving as a guiding light.
“Let’s just stay calm,” Kompany told DAZN (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It was a great performance from the team today. We had so many chances. We probably deserved more. We have to keep going more simply, go our own way and have faith that such performances will bring us the results in the end. I have a lot of hope. What this team is doing is not normal. I have enough experience. If we continue like this, we will win games again. We have to stay calm.”
The Bayern faithful tend to overreact when the team doesn’t win every match by a 3-0 margin or better. In order to maintain the trust and support of the board and the fan base, Kompany will need to produce at least three wins to close out the month.
Has Vincent Kompany been exposed? Why has Harry Kane stopped scoring? Does Manuel Neuer need a replacement? If you’re asking those questions, we discuss all that and more in the newest edition of our podcast! Listen to it below or on Spotify.
As always, we appreciate all the support!
