Arsenal are considering making changes to their matchday rules after Conor McGregor found his way onto the Emirates Stadium pitch.
Not only that, the Irish UFC superstar was seen playing football with Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice before play-fighting with the former after a 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
It was an incident which stunned fans as much as Saka, who told ‘The Notorious’ to be careful as a flurry of kicks and punches were thrown in his direction.
McGregor also grappled with Saka as if he were set to throw him before stopping.
According to The Times, an inquiry has been held at the club over the worrying scenes, which rapidly went viral.
Many supporters were concerned that one of their key players was put into such a scenario.
It’s believed McGregor entered the field of play without permission and remained there despite being told to return inside.
McGregor and his entourage appear to have received VIP tickets via a third party called 1 Access.
They provide corporate packages for the rich and famous at the Emirates.
The box in which McGregor was seated was near an area where players often stand and it appears he made it to the pitch unchallenged by security.
That’s where the former two-weight UFC champion was seen playing football with Rice, a former Republic of Ireland international before his switch of allegiance to England and Saka.
When this was told to McGregor, he said: “You did, did ya? For the Irish national team? Deadly.”
Meanwhile, on his Instagram post he claimed: “My touch is from God.”
Several videos remain of the incident on his Instagram page where he is seen heavily promoting his Forged Irish Stout, both in the stands and on the pitch.
The Irishman’s controversial past, which includes being convicted of assaulting a man in a Dublin pub, is something which also appeared to concern Arsenal.
McGregor remains without a UFC fight after planned opponent Michael Chandler was given a bout with Charles Oliveira.
The pair were due to face-off after taking part in The Ultimate Fighter.
However, repeated delays, including a broken toe for McGregor saw UFC president Dana White hand Chandler a new opponent.
McGregor must now wait for a new foe, or to face Chandler once he’s battled Oliveira at UFC 309.
