After a dominating start to the season, Bayern Munich came back to the earth by dropping points in three consecutive matches. Granted the level of competition was much higher than the previous month, Bayern is expected to earn three points every night.
Eintracht Frankfurt has been a thorn in the side of Bayern over the past decade. On Sunday, Frankfurt stole a point with Omar Marmoush’s stoppage time goal.
“We’re disappointed with the result, but the performance was really good,” Freund said after the match (via @iMiaSanMia). “We were extremely dominant in the first half. It was fun to watch the team. Despite that, we conceded three goals, which hurts. The performance was really good. The result was not what we wanted. Of course there are still things we want to improve, but in general the team is on a really good path.”
If anything, it’s uplifting to hear Freund, Max Eberl, and Vincent Kompany echo the same sentiments regarding unity and a positive outlook to the season.
Has Vincent Kompany been exposed? Why has Harry Kane stopped scoring? Does Manuel Neuer need a replacement? If you’re asking those questions, we discuss all that and more in the newest edition of our podcast! Listen to it below or on Spotify.
