The signing of Randal Kolo Muani looked promising on paper, with Paris Saint-Germain bringing in a talented French player just entering his prime. But in reality, the transfer hasn’t worked out as expected.
Kolo Muani has been at PSG for over a year, but he’s only scored 11 goals while registering six assists for the Ligue 1 side. Moreover, it seems that manager Luis Enrique has lost confidence in the player.
Enrique has used a false No. 9 rather than relying on the Frenchman even with Gonçalo Ramos currently out with an injury. When the Portugese standout suffered his setback, it was an opportunity for Kolo Muani to grab the starting job and run with it.
However, that hasn’t happened, and Le Parisien’s Coralie Salle questioned why PSG didn’t have more patience with Hugo Ekitiké, who is currently at Eintracht Frankfurt, rather than spending €95 million on Kolo Muani.
“Can someone explain why PSG’s management chose to sell Hugo Ekitiké to make room for Randal Kolo Muani?” Salle wrote Sunday on X. “I find Ekitike’s skill set much more interesting.”
Il faudra vraiment m’expliquer pourquoi la direction du PSG a préféré vendre Hugo Ekitike pour faire de la place à Randal Kolo Muani. Parce que je trouve la palette du premier cité bien plus intéressante. #OGCNPSG

Ekitiké is off to a fantastic start this season with the Bundesliga side, scoring five goals and registering four assists in eight appearances across all competitions.
