Tottenham’s defence has been called out in recent days after they let Brighton come back from 2-0 down to lose the game at the weekend.
In the coming months, the Lilywhites are going to have to not only adapt their current setup but also plan for the future transfer windows.
To that end, Spurs are already keeping a list of defenders they’d like to pursue in the near future.
Tottenham keeping tabs on Leicester City defender Caleb Okoli
As reported by TBR Football, Tottenham are looking at Leicester City defender Caleb Okoli as a target for future transfer windows.
Spurs were scouting Okoli even while he was on loan at Frosinone from Atalanta last season before he moved to the King Power this summer for £13 million, signing a five-year, £25k-per-week contract.
Newcastle and West Ham are also monitoring the Italian centre-back, who has made seven appearances for the Foxes this season across all competitions.
Leicester are 15th in the Premier League table at the moment after seven rounds, three points off the relegation zone, while Spurs are ninth, four points off top four.
Spurs will need defenders
The recent interest in their first-choice centre-backs means Spurs need to be on their guard and be ready for successors.
Of course, they also have to keep in mind their current defensive fragility, which may soon cost their manager the job and in turn see his successor ask for more legs at the back.
