Powered by VfB Stuttgart dynamo Deniz Undav, the German men’s national team surged to a 2-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League.
Undav scored a quick brace in the first half with assists coming via club teammate Maximilian Mittelstädt and Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz in the 30th and 36th minutes, respectively. However despite match dominance, Die Mannschaft could not find the back of the net again.
On the opposing side, timeless wonder Edin Džeko (now at Fenerbahçe) got one back midway through the second half but it was not enough to turn the tide.
For Germany it was a chance to look at new options at striker (Gladbach man Tim Kleindienst) and goalkeeper (Bayern Munich’s Alexander Nübel, on loan at Stuttgart). Did Julian Nagelsmann have anything to take away from their performances?
