Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been a sensation since his move to White Hart Lane, despite the criticisms coming his way off late. He has single-handedly changed the build-up phase at Tottenham Way and is highly critical when Spurs are inviting pressure to create a transition-like situation in the attack.
His credentials have led him to be targeted by Italian giants Inter Milan and AC Milan over the past few weeks, with the Serie A duo keen to bring the Italy international back to his home country. And while they pursue his signatures, Guglielmo Vicario has been promoted into the leadership group at Spurs, with Ange Postecoglou trusting him to command his man from behind.
Vicario reflects on Tottenham progress & European football
At the moment, the 28-year-old has been away on international duty with Italy as they feature in the Nations League, and during his time away from North London, he has been reflecting about his time and progress with the North Londoners.
He was quizzed about his learnings since moving to Tottenham and the fact that he is playing European football with the Premier League heavyweights, where speaking with TuttoMercatoWeb, Vicario said:

“It is a different experience for me, as I also had to learn another culture and style of football. It is all valuable experience that makes me a better athlete. Participating in a European competition for the first time is teaching me a lot too, as there is a higher tempo and more intensity. I am experiencing things I hadn’t before and that is all valuable.”
Can he become Italy’s number one Goalkeeper?
The goalkeeper has taken strides since he moved to the English top tier, as he has established himself as one of the calmer and better figures between the sticks in the Premiership. And that form has reciprocated for his country as well, with Vicario fighting out Gianluigi Donnarumma for a starting spot for the Azzurri.
