Thomas Tuchel is set to be appointed as the new manager of England today, with confirmation of that being reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano just now.
There has already been some moaning and bad reactions to the pending appointment from some of the tabloid media, with an embarrassing back page from The Daily Mail.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea had big chance to sign rising England star but had reservations, and so did he!
Tuchel though, in my opinion at least, will be an excellent appointment from The English FA and I think he will have a genuine chance to bring silverware to England once again, which would be the first time since 1966.
He is a natural born winner, he won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 with a squad that wasn’t much more than average. He is excellent tactically and can adapt and be flexible with systems and lineups, and he is a top man-manager who will come with passion and motivation.
Two players will certainly benefit
I believe that Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer will hugely benefit under Tuchel for England. Palmer should be handed that free role in a more central position and will be key to what Tuchel will build.
And I also see a back three being formed, meaning the problem position of left back at England will not need to be worried about, and Colwill can naturally slot in to a back three alongside John Stones and Marc Guehi, should that be what Tuchel will want to go for.
Overall I am pretty excited for this appointment and I think it will be a success. England have needed a manager to elevate them from always getting close but never actually winning anything. Tuchel can get them over that line, I truly believe that.
It is expected that Tuchel will be confirmed officially later today, with pretty much every outlet now reporting that.
