Vitinha (24) is set to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from RMC Sport.
Despite struggling in his debut campaign following his €40m move from Porto in the summer of 2022, Vitinha has now well-and-truly established himself as a key player in the PSG midfield, even despite continued and significant investment in this sector of the pitch.
“For me, [Vitinha] is the player of the season. If you add up his qualities as a footballer, he is the best in the team and yet all of the players are good, but he is exceptional,” said the PSG manager in a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News back in May. His nomination came despite the outgoing Kylian Mbappé comfortably securing the Golden Boot in Ligue 1.
Vitinha continues to be integral, featuring eight times in all competitions this season. His rise to prominence is now set to be rewarded with a new deal. His current deal expires in 2027 and RMC Sport understands that negotiations over a two-year extension have entered the final phase. The Portugal international therefore looks set to extend his stay with PSG until 2029.
