Bayern Munich fell 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League, failing to win two of their last three Champions League games. Speaking at a banquet dinner after the game, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen made a speech discussing the way forward.
Dreesen began by congratulating Barcelona on their statement victory (via @iMiaSanMia): “We have to be good losers and say congratulations to Hansi Flick. He deservedly won the game with his team. But we are FC Bayern, and FC Bayern has always drawn the right conclusions in such situations. I’m certain that Vincent and his staff will draw the right conclusions. We have tough tasks ahead of us and we have to look forward. The most important thing now is to stick together.”
Dreesen then discussed the upcoming games, placing complete faith in the team (as captured by @iMiaSanMia): “We know what we’re capable of. We played impressive football in the last few games, and I’m certain that this impressive football will lead to the results we want. We have tough opponents coming up with Benfica and PSG, but we can still finish among the top 8, that’s our goal. Now we have Bochum on Sunday and Mainz next week in the Pokal, games that look doable on paper, but we need to be focused on them. I wish Vincent and his team all the best for the coming games. We stick together in wins and in defeats,”
What do you think of Dreesen’s speech? Is he right in completely backing the staff and players? Is is realistic for Bayern to finish in the top eight? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
