Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman got the starting nod from Vincent Kompany and made the most of it with a second half goal.
However, the Frenchman was not enthralled with the team’s performance in the first half, which was good, but not great.
“The start of the game was tough but we kept going and worked hard. We played with a lot of pace, which worked well today. We have to look ahead and carry on,” said Coman as captured by @iMiaSanMia). ”We’re doing a lot of pressing, which of course works well when you have strength like today. Defensive vulnerability? When you press and attack with numbers it’s normal to have fewer players at the back. We have to be ready to work as a team and track back.”
Coman’s role on the team is in flux. Bayern Munich tried to sell him over the summer, but could not. Now, he seems to be getting a vote of confidence from head coach Vincent Kompany, which could help bring out the best in him.
If not, he could be back on the chopping block as early as January.
