Jamal Musiala contributed to Bayern Munich’s efforts during Die Roten 5-0 crushing of VfL Bochum in the 8th Matchday of the Bundesliga by scoring a header from a free kick from Michael Olise. This victory comes comes just four days after Bayern’s 4-1 drubbing at the hands of FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
After the Bochum match, Musiala reflected about the UCL defeat and its emotional toll: “Nobody wants to lose. It was bitter and it hurt,” said the German attacker in an interviewed captured by @iMiaSanMia.
Musiala, however, does not want the bad result to drag down his spirits: “But we have to look ahead, it’s still early in the season. We want to take a step forward with each game and be at our best level when the important games come in the second half of the season.”
Although Bochum is not an FC Barcelona caliber team by any means, the victory should help the Bavarians regain a little confidence in their journey to bounce back from the recent mediocre results in the Champions League. One thing is for sure, though, the next opponents are orders of magnitude better than Bochum, and Bayern will have to improve many aspects of their game if they want to achieve any kind of success this season.
