Bayern Munich took all its frustration from a 4-1 loss at FC Barcelona in the Champions League midweek by blasting Bundesliga bottom-feeders VfL Bochum in a 5-0 victory.
Starters and substitutes alike hit their stride with goals from a quintet of attackers: Michael Olise (16’), Jamal Musiala (26’), Harry Kane (57’), Leroy Sané (65’), and Kingsley Coman (71’).
You got the sense that five goals wasn’t enough as the Bavarians pushed to the final whistle — scrambling after loose balls, getting stuck into every challenge, and tracking back to preserve the clean sheet. It was a needed reset after the Barça defeat and now Bayern can hit the ground running heading into a DFB-Pokal match at Mainz next Wednesday.
