Bayern Munich has not had the smoothest time of late, but did turn things around over the weekend with a 5-0 win over VfL Bochum.
According to midfielder Konrad Laimer, though, there is not much reason for anyone to panic over some uneven results of late. When asked what needs to be changed, Laimer essentially indicated that his preference would be something to the effect of “not much.”
“Actually nothing in my opinion. There has been so much discussion about how risky it is to have fewer players at the back. We just need to defend certain situations better as a team. When the opponents have high quality, we just need to be smarter in certain situations,” Laimer told Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Then we will win these games too. I’m completely certain that with this style of play, once we’ve internalised it further and it comes to the big games, we can be very, very successful.”
Laimer does have some merit simply because Bayern Munich’s roster is too talented to tread water for too long. However, maybe some slight situational adjustments would serve coach Vincent Kompany well.
