It has been brought to Bayern Munich’s attention that the time for Manuel Neuer’s replacement is fast approaching. One of the obvious choices would be Alexander Nübel, who is currently on loan at fellow Bundesliga club Stuttgart. Bayern can bring him back, but only before a specific date.
As revealed in April: FC Bayern can bring Alexander #Nübel back for free but would need to inform VfB Stuttgart in the spring and exercise the contractually agreed option.
If Bayern misses the deadline (April 30, 2025) and wants to bring him back afterward, a transfer fee must be paid. Currently, Bayern is planning with Manuel #Neuer for the 2025/26 season.

After missing out on Giorgi Mamardashvili to Liverpool and other established ‘keepers seemingly beyond the reach of the Germans’ wallet, the Bavarians found themselves frankly with almost no options left. In the end, filling in Neuer’s boots—and gloves—is easier said than done.
