Arriving this summer on loan at Stade de Reims from PSG, Gabriel Moscardo (19) has not yet played an official match in his new colors. A situation which arouses the impatience of Reims and Parisian supporters. According to Luka Elsner, the Reims coach, several factors explain this expectation.
Injured in the hip upon his arrival, the midfielder was unable to fully prepare, especially as he was coming off a recent operation. “He is still in a phase of adaptation to the demanding and fast-paced football of Ligue 1. We must choose the right moment for him to fully express himself,” Elsner said.
Promising friendly debut
Despite his absence in the league, Moscardo showed a glimpse of his talent in a friendly match against Charleroi, where he scored from the penalty spot. This commitment, as well as his work in training, reassures his coach.
Recruited by PSG for 20 million euros in January 2024, the young Brazilian midfielder is still under the observation of the Parisian club, which has inserted a clause allowing his return from January 2025. Reims, just like Paris, hopes to see Moscardo reveal its potential by the end of the season.
