According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer did not train with the team on Thursday.
Neuer had left training on Wednesday to due an undisclosed issue. Some speculated that it might have been gastrointestinal distress, but it appears the 39-year-old is dealing with a rib problem:
Manuel Neuer did not train with the team today and only worked indoors due to rib problems. Before tomorrow’s game, a final rib test will be carried out in the morning. If Neuer can’t play, Daniel Peretz will start in goal.
With Sven Ulreich out of the fold due to “personal reasons”, Daniel Peretz could, indeed, get thrown to the fire against FC Augsburg on Friday. Peretz, of course, starred for Israel in games against France and Belgium during the recent international break.
