Roy Keane appeared to have a heated confrontation with an Ipswich Town fan following the club’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
The United legend was working as a pundit for Sky Sports at Portman Road as Ruben Amorim took charge of the club for the first time.
Keane returned to the ground at which he was manager from 2009 to 2011, although it wasn’t the most successful of stints.
During Sky Sports’ post-match coverage of Sunday’s draw, the 53-year-old was spotted walking over to an Ipswich fan at pitch side.
In footage posted on X by Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt, he could be seen pointing and exchanging words with a supporter.
This came during a commercial break, with the confrontation lasting just a few seconds.
As reported by the Daily Mail, another fan in one of the upper tiers at Portman Road was heard shouting ‘F*** you Keane!’
A separate video posted on social media offers a closer view, with a fan heard saying: “You’re a better pundit than you was a manager.”
Keane responded by getting in his face, where he replied: “I’ll wait for you in the car park!”
The Irishman, who was headbutted by an Arsenal fan at the Emirates last year, eventually had to be ushered away from the individual, before he then returned to his punditry role as colleague Jamie Redknapp watched on.
The former United midfielder was appointed as Ipswich’s manager in April 2009 following a successful spell at Sunderland.
He won his first two matches in charge at the end of the 2008/09 Championship season but struggled in the following campaign.
Ipswich had to wait until their 15th league match for their first victory and finished nine points above the bottom three in 15th.
Keane was then dismissed from the role at the beginning of 2011, with the Tractor Boys being the second and final club he’s managed.
He left with a win record of 29 from 81 matches in all competitions, with 24 of those draws and 28 defeats.
Keane has only worked in assistant roles since leaving Ipswich, doing so with Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
Now a popular pundit, he was in attendance for United’s latest Premier League fixture which ended in a fourth draw of the season.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring within 81 seconds of the first half before Omari Hutchinson sealed a point for Ipswich before half-time.
And Keane was less than pleased with what he saw from his former employers.
He raged: “We saw with the first goal after the first minute, you think, ‘A great start, a bit of quality, a bit of pace, a nice finish from Marcus getting into the areas you want him to be.’
“And then United just sat back and you’re thinking, ‘What are you waiting for?’
“Ipswich are a team near the bottom, obviously on the back of a good result from Spurs, but with their home record not great, go after them!
“It was if United almost were fearful of going on to win the game.
“The manager obviously made a lot of changes in the second half, and to be fair, you’re thinking, ‘He’s obviously trying to win the game.’
“He’s still trying to get to know these players, but United, the position in the league, their results, they probably lacked that confidence and belief.
“But do I believe this group of players have the quality to start getting Manchester United back up towards the top four/top five?
“I’ve been saying it for ages, absolutely not. The evidence isn’t there.
“And again today, we’ve come down here thinking, ‘A new manager, a new bounce,’ and it’s all very positive.
“But then when the game starts. It’s the same old stuff. Predictable and a real lack of quality.”
