Bayern Munich’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League was the product of a few things, but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says it mostly had to do with the team’s work ethic and persistence.
“We came up against a tough team in Paris here at home. We had to move them around a lot to keep the ball moving, they tried to put us under pressure, but we stayed calm. We tried to find the open man and probably played better when it was 11v11. But we’re happy about the three points at home, that’s now three in a row at home in the Champions League,” said Neuer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Our willingness to work hard. The transitions after losing possession, we were always right there, putting the opponent under pressure to turn the ball over. And the transitions into the opponent’s half worked well too, as we created a lot of threat.”
Bayern Munich’s fight and resilience has been off-the-charts this season and those are not bad traits to start with for any team.
