West Ham United seemingly have a great chance to make a really useful signing in the January window.
The opening of the January transfer window is just around the corner, and West Ham need to make some moves.
Julen Lopetegui made nine new signings in the summer, but further work is required on the squad.
The Hammers are said to be in the hunt for a new striker, with Brazilian Igor Jesus reportedly on our radar.
However, another area at the London Stadium that requires urgent attention is the centre-back department.
At the moment, the only senior backup for Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman is Konstantinos Mavropanos.
That’s obviously a real concern.
But now the door could be wide open for West Ham to sign one of our supposed prime transfer targets this winter.
West Ham have chance to sign Victor Nelsson
According to Turkish publication a SPOR, Galatasaray are prepared to listen to offers worth around £8.5 million for Hammers target Victor Nelsson.
We were heavily linked with a move to sign him in the summer, but he remained in Turkey in the end.
I think that Nelsson would be a fine addition to our ranks.
The 26-year-old is far from a well-known name, but he’s a very reliable player indeed.
He has been described as a ‘superb’ centre-back by well-known X account Football Talent Scout.
The 16-capped Denmark international stands at 6ft 1in tall – fairly short for a centre-back, but he has an impressive leap on him, and he’s very quick.
In 32 Super Lig appearances for Galatasaray last season, Nelsson averaged 1.4 interceptions, 3.3 clearances and four successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
The 26-year-old is a very solid all-round centre-back, and has proven during his time with Gala that he possesses the physical attributes required to succeed in the Premier League.
I would be more than happy if West Ham managed to sign Victor Nelsson for just £8.5 million in January.
