Everton and Liverpool are in Premier League action this weekend against the Manchester clubs
Liverpool and Everton are both in action this weekend against Manchester City and Manchester United respectively.
Arne Slot‘s side host title rivals City at Anfield in the later kick-off on Sunday afternoon, while the Toffees travel to face United at Old Trafford earlier in the day. Liverpool will hope to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings, with Everton aiming to increase the gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
However, the kick-off times look slightly different this weekend compared to the usual 2pm and 4:30pm slots. Everton’s clash at Old Trafford will take place at an earlier time of 1:30pm, with the blockbuster tie between Liverpool and City scheduled for 4pm.

The later game is understood to have been moved forward by 30 minutes at the request of Merseyside Police in light of the supporter trouble in recent meetings. While an official reason hasn’t been provided for the change to the kick-off times for the earlier fixtures, it is most likely to avoid a cross-over in TV coverage, with Aston Villa’s trip to Chelsea also part of Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage.
Liverpool have a huge opportunity to move 11 points clear of City in the title race with a victory on Sunday, and the Reds will be full of confidence after their midweek victory over European champions Real Madrid. City, on the other hand, lost a three-goal lead in a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord in their Champions League clash, and will hope to end their run of six games without a win.
