Bayern Munich was not at its best in the first half of its 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.
In the second half, however, the squad was much more up to the task and captain Manuel Neuer attributed part of that performance to the demeanor of head coach Vincent Kompany.
“He was very focused, very analytical of course, about what we can do better. And that we should keep it up. He wasn’t loud or anything, but rather concentrated, focused and specific,” Neuer told Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The German outlet went even further with a report stating that the coach is “very popular” with the team:
According to @BILD, Kompany’s style is very popular with the players. The coach offers good content to his players in the half-time analysis, not just in the team meetings after the games.
Kompany’s style has seemed to work with this group, but there has not been any adversity to really test the squad. In the second half of the season, we should get a clear picture on how tied together this squad is with its coaching staff.
