Ange Postecoglou commends Fraser Forster’s Impact
Tottenham fans will likely feel more at ease about Guglielmo Vicario’s injury following Fraser Forster’s strong performances against Roma and Fulham. The 36-year-old Englishman, who joined from Southampton in the 2021/22 season, has made just 21 appearances for the Lilywhites, keeping seven clean sheets while earning £75,000 per week. However, he truly stepped up today, making five crucial saves to carry the team.
If not for Fraser Forster’s crucial interventions, Spurs would have suffered their second consecutive Premier League defeat at home.
Much like in the 2-2 draw against AS Roma, the Englishman bailed out his defence on multiple occasions. Ange Postecoglou was highly impressed by Forster’s performance, acknowledging the challenge of losing Guglielmo Vicario but commending Forster for stepping up when it mattered most. The Spurs boss also praised the goalkeeper’s exceptional work ethic.

“Yeah, he was good. We needed him in some big moments today. When you lose someone as important as Vic, you need someone experienced who isn’t going to be overawed by stepping in. We see Fraser every day and we know his really strong work ethic.”
