Arsenal have two players in the various Teams of the Week for the latest round of Premier League fixtures, following the 5-2 win over West Ham United.
The BBC, WhoScored, and the Premier League have all confirmed their Team of the Week picks for the weekend’s fixtures, and Bukayo Saka featured in all three teams.
The BBC’s Troy Deeney wrote that Saka “just seems to be getting better and better”, adding that “there is a level of arrogance and confidence that is excellent”.
WhoScored’s Sam Hammond highlighted Saka’s goal, two assists, and the penalty he won as the justification behind his 9.47 rating, whilst Alan Shearer wrote for the Premier League that Saka was “unplayable against West Ham”.
One more Arsenal player made it into the BBC team, with Deeney selecting centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes for his side.
Deeney wrote: “Every single time he plays, set pieces, he shows his demand. Just shows he is unfazed.”
Perhaps Gabriel’s early withdrawal led to his exclusion from the other two teams, with some concern over his fitness ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Manchester United.
Arsenal probably would have had more players in the Teams of the Week if they hadn’t spread the goals out so well, with five different individuals getting on the scoresheet.
But whilst that doesn’t lead to much individual recognition, it’s certainly good news for Arsenal to have so many players performing well.
