Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is reportedly biding his time and waiting for the West Ham job.
Claret & Hugh were informed by a top London Stadium source last week that the club had held initial talks with Potter over the West Ham head coach’s job. However, Julen Lopetegui won his crucial head-to-head ‘El Sackio’ encounter 2-1 against Gary O’Neil’s struggling Wolves team, which many believed had ended the speculation.
But only yesterday, a top West Ham source informed C&H that Lopetegui was safe “for now” but results also had to improve. It was an unconvincing vote of confidence in the former Spain boss which has done little to kill the uncertainty over his precarious position.
Talk Sport have now followed up that news this morning by suggesting that Potter is willing to wait patiently to get into the Hammers’ hot seat.
The former Brighton gaffer may not have to wait too long either. West Ham face two very tricky fixtures on the horizon against high-flying Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion.
