Ex-Spurs scout wants Tottenham to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich
Tottenham Hotspur have done some high-profile dealings with Bayern Munich over the last couple of years.
Harry Kane completed a big-money move to Bayern Munich in August 2023, ending his 19-year-long association with Spurs. Eric Dier also swapped the North London side for the Bavarian giants in January 2024. However, it just has not been Bayern signing players from Tottenham.
During the past winter transfer window, the Lilywhites signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern with an option to buy in the summer. Also, Tottenham have recently been one of the Premier League clubs to have been offered the chance to sign Leroy Sane, who is out of contract at Bayern at the end of the campaign.
Tottenham are keen to sign Tel permanently from the Bundesliga heavyweights. It has been reported that the Ange Postecoglou-managed club will also be granted the opportunity to sign Kingsley Coman when they enter potential transfer discussions with Bayern for Tel.
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King would prefer Spurs to target a move for Joshua Kimmich instead of Coman.
“I’d go after Kimmich if I were Tottenham,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“He’d be the sort of player who would lift the standard at Tottenham. The talk of players like Coman, are they any better than what Postecoglou has already got?
“Kimmich is the sort of player who would instantly lift the football club.”

After months and months of uncertainty, Joshua Kimmich signed a new four-year deal with Bayern on Thursday to pour cold water on the speculation surrounding his future. The versatile German was linked with several clubs across Europe since last year as he was taking a lot of time to decide about his future.
As a result, Bayern had withdrawn the contract offer, but they didn’t close the door to an extension. The talks between both parties picked up pace last week, and ultimately an agreement was reached. The midfielder signing a new contract means Spurs or any other club have now no chance to sign him.

Kimmich would have been a top player for Tottenham, bringing leadership, volumes of experience and winning mentality to the squad. The club would have benefited hugely from having a top player and winner like the Germany international, who is enjoying the prime years of his career. However, there is no point thinking about it now.
