Alexander Isak has postponed discussions over his future until the end of the season, as the Newcastle United striker prioritises the club’s push for silverware and Champions League qualification.
The 25-year-old, who has 22 goals across all competitions this season, has attracted serious interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain, but has insisted that no contract talks have taken place with Newcastle, where he remains under contract until 2028 on a £140kpw deal.
“That’ll probably be a talking point once the season is finished,” Isak said. “We will see, because no talks have been held yet.
“I’ve said many times during a season, just focus on the job, and now is probably the worst time to think about anything else, so all of our focus is just on Sunday.
“This club can achieve great things. This season we can achieve winning a trophy, which would be amazing for everyone.”

Newcastle’s ability to keep hold of their record signing may depend on whether they secure a top-five finish, which would guarantee a place in the expanded Champions League next season.
They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, battling with City, Brighton, Villa and Bournemouth for the remaining spots.
Arsenal are said to be closely monitoring the situation, with Mikel Arteta in the market for an elite centre-forward this summer.
However, Newcastle insist they are not under pressure to sell, with their valuation believed to exceed £100 million, unless financial constraints force their hand.
