Tottenham Hotspur’s season has been turbulent, with the Europa League now their only remaining shot at silverware. Their inconsistency was evident in a 2-0 defeat to Fulham, but injuries have paved the way for emerging talents to shine. Archie Gray has been a standout since his arrival, and his transfer could prove an even bigger bargain following Leeds’ latest decision. Amid an injury crisis, Ange Postecoglou has placed significant trust in the youngster.
The 19-year-old has stepped up brilliantly, earning the Young Player of the Year award at the London Football Awards for his standout performances this season.
After this recognition, reports suggest the midfielder-turned-defender, who joined Spurs for £30 million, is already valued at £50 million. Tottenham might save even more on their rising star following Leeds’ latest decision.
Gray transfer discount could be the key to finalising the deal
Many may have forgotten about Tottenham’s out-of-favour striker, Manor Solomon, who joined the club last year but made just six appearances before being loaned to Leeds, where he is now making a big impact. According to the Sunday Mirror, Leeds have informed Tottenham of their interest in signing Solomon permanently—provided they secure Premier League promotion this season.
Former Spurs scout Bryan King believes Tottenham could set a £15 million price tag plus add-ons for the winger. However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, suggests a discount on Archie Gray’s transfer could be a smarter approach to finalising the deal.
The former Spurs’ scout speaking with TottenhamNews, believes Tottenham will sell Solomon
“Tottenham will still have payments that they owe Leeds for Gray,”
“I’m sure one of those payments is due this summer. Therefore, that can be negotiated to reduce that payment and send Solomon to Leeds in return.
“That would be a good move for the player. He is performing exceptionally well at Elland Road and the fans seem to love him. I’m sure there is interest in the player from other clubs, but he has already moved around quite a lot in his young career.
“Therefore, he might be keen to make roots at a big club such as Leeds.”
With 15 goal contributions this season, Solomon is emerging as a promising talent. However, Spurs already boast top-tier strikers like Solanke and Richarlison. Selling Solomon would benefit both clubs, especially with Gray already thriving at Tottenham.

Solomon’s long-term future at Tottenham remains uncertain, making a permanent move the most practical solution. If Leeds negotiate a discount on Gray’s remaining payments, it could streamline the transfer process.
