According to a report form Belgian outlet HLN.BE, Bayern Munich is keeping a watchful eye on Genk attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas.
Karetsas is a 17-year-old who was born in Belgium, but plays internationally for Greece:
Bayern sent scouts to Genk vs Union Saint-Gilloise yesterday to watch Genk’s Belgian born Greek international Konstantinos Karetsas (17/attacking midfielder). Karetsas, considered one of the best talents in the Belgian Pro League, is attracting interest from several top clubs.
Bayern Munich can never have enough attacking midfielders these days it seems. If you want to check out some highlights for Karetsas, see the video below:
Karetsas can also play as a wing, which could hold a lot of appeal to the Bavarians.
Tottenham Hotspur will have to figure out its attacking situation very soon.
With Mathys Tel in tow on a loan from Bayern Munich, Tottenham might have to discern whether to keep Tel or go after Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović:
Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, according to Football Insider. It is reported that Spurs have been informed that they could acquire the 25-year-old for £25 million in the summer, with manager Ange Postecoglou still looking to reinforce his forward line. Vlahović is set to enter the final year of his contract at the Allianz Stadium in June, and the Bianconeri are willing to move him on if he doesn’t sign a contract extension.
Bayern Munich sputtered into the international break with an unexpected 1-1 draw on the road with Union Berlin.
We’ll talk about that and some of the other burning issues going on with the Bavarians at the moment. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:
- Why did Bayern Munich look so unfocused and fall apart against Union Berlin? Let’s discuss.
- It’s not time to worry about Jonas Urbig.
- Why is Vincent Kompany still so reluctant to rotate?
- Leroy Sané’s last minute rush for a new contract is upon us.
- Eric Dier could get a new deal, but it still feels unlikely.
- Who from Bayern Munich is unsellable?
- Oh yeah, it’s a race again.
When asked about Uli Hoeneß’s recent comments that it doesn’t make sense for Thomas Müller to stay if he were to be just a substitute, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl said that it is a complicated situation.
“I had already said that the conversation with Thomas would be the shortest of all: you don’t need to have any big discussions with him about perspectives or anything like that. The important thing is that we make a decision together that is best for everyone. Thomas Müller is an icon of FC Bayern. It’s about his thoughts, how he imagines his role, as well as our thoughts. And of course you always have to take the financial side into account in such a topic. There was a conversation at the end of last year, and we will continue that. With Thomas, we’re taking the conversations out of crunch time,” Eberl said.
Eintracht Frankfurt is hoping 2014 World Cup hero Mario Götze will extend his stay:
Eintracht Frankfurt are currently confident that Mario Götze will stay beyond this season. His contract runs until 2026, with an option for an additional year.
Moreover, Eintracht have received signals that Götze wants to stay and is not looking for a transfer. He remains a… pic.twitter.com/Mf1PhgSq2c

Bayern Munich came away with a performance to forget in a 1-1 draw in the German capital against Union Berlin. The Bayern performance left more questions than answers; if Vincent Kompany can set his team up to play with fluency, why does Bayern consistently fail against low blocks? Bayern nonetheless created a nine point gap at the top and the Bundesliga title race seems all but mathematically decided:
- The lineups of both sides and what they looked like on the pitch.
- Some thoughts about Serge Gnabry’s starting role today.
- Some praise for Josip Stanišić.
- Why this draw resembled Bayern’s defeats against Aston Villa and Feyenoord.
- Should Kompany have made more changes in this game?
Amid recent rumors that Liverpool FC might be eyeing him up, Borussia Dortmund wants to get center-back Nico Schlotterbeck inked to a new deal:
Borussia Dortmund want to make Nico #Schlotterbeck the club’s face of the future and a potential captain.
Contract talks are currently on hold due to #BVB’s sporting situation, but Dortmund plan to almost double his current salary of €5-6m, as per @berger_pj
.Other clubs keep showing interest, and a transfer is not ruled out if Dortmund miss out on European football. However, Schlotterbeck remains open to staying even in case of failure.
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane recently talked through who some of his idols were at center-forward.
“At the very beginning, it was Teddy Sheringham who had a very good sense of the game. We could add Ruud van Nistelrooy or Jermaine Defoe who was the Spurs scorer when I was in the youth team. And then, of course, Ronaldo the Brazilian,” said Kane. “Generally speaking, I really like strikers who have the ability to do a lot of things with the ball outside the penalty box, the ability to participate in the game, to create. That has always inspired me. It probably showed me the way to become the striker I am today.”
Bayern Munich has one more game before it will hit an international break — and there is much to talk about, so let’s not waste any time.
This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:

- How are we feeling about Bayern Munich as the squad takes a break?

- Leroy Sané has a very tough decision to make.
- A brief Entertainment Rundown where we focus on the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again.
RB Leipzig is said to be “determined” to extend the contract of midfielder Xaver Schlager:
RB Leipzig and Xaver #Schlager are in the middle of contract negotiations.
No breakthrough yet, but RB are determined to extend the Austrian’s contract, as per @philipphinze24.
Schlager’s contract runs until 2026 – and Leipzig do not want to enter the final year. Meaning: a decision is expected by summer.
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was recently asked about how the club stacks up in Europe and offered up an honest assessment.
“We feel comfortable somewhere in the top 5-6. Even though we weren’t happy with the sporting success in the past couple of years, we still were the only team besides Manchester City to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League in each of the past 5 years. Even the big Real Madrid with the most CL titles didn’t get to the quarterfinals five times in a row,” said Dreesen.
Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann selected his German national team squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League quarterfinals tie with Italy.
With so many injuries and illnesses to deal with, Nagelsmann probably had to operate a bit outside his comfort zone with some of his selections, but — in the end — came up with the concoction that he thinks will best position the German national team for success against a very solid side from Italy.
This is what we have on tap for this Special Edition episode of Bavarian Podcast Works:
- A reaction to the Bayern Munich selections on the squad.
- Commentary on each position group.
- Some final takeaways on the selections and what to expect.
Another report has come out saying that AC Milan will pass on a permanent deal for Portuguese attacker João Félix:
AC Milan are currently not planning any round of talks with Chelsea to keep João Félix at the club beyond this season.
There’s no buy option clause in the deal, but in any case Milan are not advancing at this stage.
More to follow after director/head coach decisions.
Christian Pulisic looks set for a longer stay with AC Milan:

The salary will be improved as expected.
“I want to continue at Milan”, Pulisic confirmed on Saturday.
