West Ham United have been handed some great news, with a claim suggesting that one of our most underperforming players could be set for a big summer transfer.
The summer transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham, with Graham Potter in desperate need of freshening things up at the London Stadium.
Graham Potter wants to add more dynamism and youth to his West Ham ranks in the summer.
And boy do we need that. The current Hammers squad is an incredibly unbalanced and ageing one.
The problem for Potter is that money is tight at the London Stadium right now.
So the Hammers head coach will have to clear a lot of the deadwood, if he is to raise ample funds for a summer spending spree.
West Ham player Maxwel Cornet set for big summer transfer
The good news for Potter is that Maxwel Cornet could fetch a decent fee for the Hammers this summer.
According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, bringing Cornet, 28, to Genoa this summer is one of Patrick Vieira’s main priorities.
The Ivorian has been a big hit out in Italy with Genoa after joining them on loan in the January transfer window.
He has bagged two goals and an assist in six games for them so far this season.
However, West Ham’s hopes of selling Maxwel Cornet permanently took a hit last week when it came to light that he had suffered a thigh injury.

The good news is that the latest report seems to suggest that the former Burnley man’s thigh problem isn’t too serious at all.
Maxwel Cornet is West Ham’s secret weapon
Cornet has been awful for the Hammers, there are no two ways about that.
However, he could end up being very useful indeed for us.
That’s because it has been claimed that Maxwel Cornet could be used by bait as West Ham in order to secure a deal for Genoa defender Koni De Winter.
The 22-year-old centre-back is one of the best young players on the continent.
And if Cornet manages to help us sign the Belgian, then all will be forgiven!
