Tottenham set to battle Arsenal and Liverpool for the signing of Feyenoord star Igor Paixao
There is a dire need to add some quality depth and dynamism in the wide department at Hotspur Way given how Tottenham Hotspur have found it difficult to unlock well-drilled defences both in the Premier League and Europe.
Changes are expected to take place after a disastrous campaign that currently sees Spurs 14th in the Premier League and eliminated from both domestic cup competitions. Winning the Europa League would salvage the season to some extent but a club of our prestige should be performing a lot better in the Premier League, regardless of the injury situation.
The Lilywhites are reportedly looking to offload both Richarlison and Son Heung-min—two senior forwards—at the end of the season, while Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig expires at the end of June. Therefore, they are on the hunt for wingers to adequately replace them in the roster.
According to a report from Spanish news outlet Todofichajes, Tottenham are among several clubs interested in signing Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao. He is a player that the North Londoners are well aware of, having scouted him multiple times earlier this season.
Igor Paixao has been among the standout performers for Feyenoord this season. He has already scored 11 goals and supplied 15 assists in 38 games across all competitions, thereby, catching the eye of multiple clubs across Europe. Arsenal and Liverpool could rival Spurs to the signing of the Feyenoord star.
The aforementioned report adds the Eredivisie club values Paixao at approximately €30 million. Talks around the Brazilian is expected to intensify in the coming weeks, as we enter the business end of the 2024/25 campaign.

For Tottenham, Paixao fits perfectly into the playing style that Ange Postecoglou has deployed at White Hart Lane with his speed, dribbling ability and flair complemented by his poaching instincts that are continually a nightmare to the defenders. The comes his off the ball work ethic and desire to help the team out defensively when required, which could go on and help the North Londoners massively as well.

At 24, the South American is perhaps at an ideal age to make the step up from Eredivisie to the Premier League. Paixao has the required qualities to cut the mustard in the English top-flight, whilst being a long-term replacement for the ageing Son at Tottenham.
That being said, Daniel Levy will have to start laying ground for the possible transfer to ensure that the North Londoners stand a chance to sign Paixao at the end of the ongoing campaign.
