Thomas Tuchel should be turning to West Ham star Jarrod Bowen as he takes charge of his first England games.
That’s according to a football legend who knew where the goal was.
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen was called up to Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.
Despite there being fierce competition in Bowen’s position, the Hammers star got the nod from the German.
Bowen actually revealed Tuchel had called him twice since being made Three Lions boss.
That was a big hint the German would be including him in the squad.
Ironically he could have been Bowen’s manager at West Ham.
West Ham star Bowen finally gets the respect he deserves
Hammers News exclusively revealed earlier this season that West Ham’s owners had confirmed Tuchel was on their shortlist to replace David Moyes last summer.
However, in West Ham’s own words it was ‘too much hard work and too expensive at the time’.
While Bowen has been called upon for Tuchel’s first England squad, his Hammers teammates Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Max Kilman have been snubbed.
Both were reportedly on Tuchel’s 55-man long list before he whittled it down to 26 for the March internationals.
But Chelsea stars Levi Colwill and Reece James and the likes of 32-year-old Dan Burn, 34-year-old Kyle Walker and Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah were picked ahead of them.
Furious Hammers fans have already accused Tuchel of bias against them.
Tuchel was then left red-faced by an astonishing Kilman revelation this week.
As with any England squad, there is always intense debate on selections.
One Sky Sports pundit has been savaged – and not just by West Ham fans – for his take that Bowen shouldn’t be in Tuchel’s plans.
Now all eyes will be on the starting line-ups Tuchel picks as England take on Albania on Friday evening and then Latvia on Monday – both at Wembley.
One football legend has left Tuchel in no doubt that West Ham star Bowen is England’s man.
And former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has responded.
Striker great Ally McCoist was discussing Tuchel’s forward options for England with Deeney on talkSPORT.
McCoist interrupted a discussion about whether Marcus Rashford should be in the mix to start by raving about Bowen.

Deeney responds as McCoist raves about Hammer Bowen
“One player I’d like to mention in that squad (as a potential starter), because I think he’s a terrific player, is Jarrod Bowen of West Ham,” McCoist said.
“I mean Troy what (a player), I’m a big fan, mate. I am a BIG fan.
“(He’s playing) in a West Ham team that is sometimes a little bit up and down, but he’s the one consistent.”
Deeney agreed, calling Bowen a ‘proper player and person’ as he hailed his low profile off the pitch.
“Proper player and a just a proper person isn’t he, no hysterics, nothing off the pitch really,” Deeney said.
“Just does his job, scores his goals, goes home.”
Bowen has had to fight to earn respect in the England setup.
He was left out by interim boss Lee Carsley for the last squad in November.
But nine withdrawals say Carsley come to the West Ham skipper cap in hand.
Bowen gleefully accepted being a late addition to the squad and did his talking on the pitch, laying on an assist and scoring a wonderful first England goal in big wins over Greece and Ireland.
After the Bowen scored a belter in the 5-0 win over the Republic, Carsley said he hoped it would get West Ham fans off his back at petrol stations.
That was after Carsley was confronted by angry Hammers over his Bowen snub whenever he stopped at a services.
